United Way of Hastings Allocates Funds to Hastings Family Service

(HASTINGS, MN)  The United Way of Hastings (UWH) is pleased to allocate $38,000 to Hastings Family Service to support its mission and work in the Hastings community.

Each spring, a group of individuals from the community join the UWH Community Investment Committee and review applications for funding from several local agencies.  This process includes interviews with selected agencies. Based on the funds raised in the previous year by the UWH and direction from the UWH Board of Directors, the committee allocates funds to organizations that fall within the agency funding guidelines established by the UWH.

“The United Way of Hastings has funded Hastings Family Service since it was first established in 1970, and we want to continue to support the programs and services offered by Hastings Family Service,” said Tara Donohue Weiss, Executive Director.  “Hastings Family Service provides critical services to the community and we are pleased to help them achieve their goals.”

The UWH is an independent United Way that has worked for more than 45 years serving Hastings and the surrounding rural communities within School District 200.   Its mission is to be a force for attracting diverse resources and building dynamic partnerships to improve the lives of people in our community.  Donations are accepted year-round.  For more information about the UWH and the agencies it funds, visit www.unitedwayofhastings.org.
