OASIS After School Program Goes Fishing
The United Way of Hastings (UWH) helps fund an after school program at Hastings Middle School called OASIS (Opportunities After School Improving Success). OASIS provides a safe, drug free environment that allows students to learn through thoughtfully planned academic, social and physical activities. OASIS supports special reading and math after school classes, physical education activities, social interaction games, tutorial help in all classes, outdoor activities, out-of-school experiences, and a free healthy snack each day.
Last week, the OASIS youth and staff were able to enjoy a fishing trip. “This fishing trip, along with other outdoor activities, helps our students make a connection in our school, with other classmates, and the Hastings community,” said George Mitshulis, OASIS Director. CLICK HERE to Learn more.
